Watercolor pigment on Arches - 11”x 15”

With the loss of my company EllieFunDay. I was put into a forced sabbatical. During this time I came back to something I loved and that was watercolor. Playing with the duality of grief, the baby white tiger represented this company that I loved and nurtured since its inception. The oak leaves and single acorn harken back to a tiny seed of hope that was planted for the marginalized women that I helped through my company, yet mourning it’s loss. The Benedictine habit is representative of the stripping away of oneself during this process of grief and learning to sit in contemplative practices in order to move forward in hope.
